


Pie Widget – Overview
A Pie widget can display the data from a single tag belonging to an Asset in one of two Scopes: Aggregated Data or Last Value. This topic shows you how to configure a Pie widget to display the data of the selected data tag, and then customize the widget appearance.
Widget Wizard
After you drag & drop a widget onto the Canvas, the Wizard opens and leads you through the required steps.
Step 1 – Data
Here
you select the Asset Type, the Asset Properties, and the Tag
Data you want
to present in the widget.
1. When you have finished, click Next to continue.
Step 2 – Scope
Next,
select the widget Scope. Scope determines which data is displayed, and how it
will be displayed.
· Aggregated Data
Enables you to collect data from specified tags over a specific time period,
and to automatically calculate and display the result of calculations such as
average, minimum, maximum, sum, and count. You can select how to sort and
filter the displayed results.
· Last Value
Select this to display the most recent value of the selected tags. You can select how to sort and filter the
displayed results.
When you have finished, click Next.
Step 3 – Organize
Tags and Asset properties you selected in Step 1 will be shown in Available Data.
This
is where you determine:
- Which tag data will be displayed in which
pie section.
- How that data will be filtered and sorted.
The
behavior in this step is depending on the Scope of data you have
selected in Step 2.
Aggregated Data
Group By
Here is where you group your data. The right side shows the Available Data.
Using the drag handle , drag & drop your selections into
the Group By field.
If a drop-down arrow is displayed, click it to select a specific tag property. In the following image Data Timestamp Weekly is selected on the right and Monthly on the left; the number of columns automatically adjusts in Preview.
Data and
Metrics
A Pie Widget displays
data from a single tag. Drag the tag you want to show into the Data and
Metrics field.
Note the drop-down
arrows that enable you to perform calculations on the collected tag data.
After you drop a tag into the field, click the drop-down arrow and select the
calculation, or calculations, to display.
Note that in Preview, you can select a section in the Legend to fade the others.
Last Value
Group By
For Last Value you must drop single Tag in the group by section
Data and
Metrics
Drag the data you want
to show into the Data and Metrics field.
Filters
You can filter your data to
display it according to your selected parameters, such as time, date, or size.
To filter the data:
- Drag
elements from the Available Data into the Filters field.
- Use
the drop-downs to filter a specific element.
- Create
more complex filtering expressions by including multiple elements and
conditions.
Sort
You can sort your data to display
it in a specific order in a column.
To sort the data:
- Drag
elements from the Available Data into the Sort field.
- Use
the drop-downs to sort it.

Step 4 – Customize your Pie Widget
You can customize your widgets to effectively display your data, according to your dashboard requirements.
You can enter a Widget Name—a display name for the title bar and customize the appearance of your widget, including, Tooltips, Legend, and more.
As you work, the Preview shows your changes:
· Show as: select Pie or Donut.
· Subtitle: you can enter text and determine its position and color.
· Legend: you can determine its position.
· Tooltip: select Visible to show a tooltip when you move your cursor over the widget.
· Data Labels: select Visible and set a color to display the value of each column on the column itself.
· Color Palette: use this to assign colors to the Pie sections; the colors are automatically reflected in the Legend.
Colors
The color picker works on the same principles for all Dashboard elements.
1. Click a color square to open the Color
Picker.
2. Select the Color in the selection bar.
3. Click the color field, and drag your cursor to the desired color.
4. Click OK; the element will take on the
color of your selection.
The following image shows a shade of red being applied to a table row background.
Click Next to continue.
Step 5 – Navigation
Here you can configure which dashboard UniCloud will display in response to user clicks. Navigate is not mandatory and can be left undefined.

When you are done,
click Finish to return to the Dashboard Canvas.
The widget you have just configured will be displayed at its default size.
